Fast-moving fire damages back of home on southeast-side, SAFD says

Crews worked quickly and were able to prevent the fire from spreading further into the home.

SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters battled a fast-moving fire that caused moderate damage to a home on the southeast side of San Antonio late Saturday night.

It happened around 11:42 p.m. off of the 100 block of Hartford Avenue near Pecan Valley Drive and I-37.

Officials say when crews got there flames were coming from the back side of the house, then quickly spread to the attic.

Crews were able to get the fire under control and saved the rest of the house. Everyone inside the house was able to get out safely. The home sustained moderate damage from the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  

No injuries were reported.
