Police say the driver of a large pickup was speeding when he crashed into the back of a smaller truck, pinning that driver inside.
SAN ANTONIO — A four-vehicle crash north of downtown in the early morning hours of Tuesday left one man dead, according to SAPD.
San Antonio police responded to Highway 281 near Thousand Oaks Drive just after 2 a.m. for reports of a crash involving four vehicles.
Police say the driver of a large pickup was speeding when he crashed into the back of a smaller truck, pinning that driver inside. When police got there, the driver of the smaller truck, a man who police say is in his thirties, was already dead.
Officers believe alcohol as well as the driver’s speed may have been the cause of the crash that took the life of the other driver. Officers did perform a field sobriety test on that driver, resulting in his arrest on possible DWI charges.
There were two other drivers involved in the crash, but police at the scene say there were no other injuries reported.
