Father of Lina Sardar Khil desperate for answers 3 years after daughter’s disappearance

Riaz Sardar Khil stressed he will contribute $30,000 of his own money to the current $250,000 reward.

SAN ANTONIO — More than a dozen community members gathered in solidarity in honor of Lina Sardar Khil, who vanished from a northwest-side apartment complex exactly three years ago.

Riaz Sardar Khil has been overwhelmed by frustration and heartbreak as he continues his fight to find his daughter.

With the aid of a translator, he emphasized his lack of faith in law enforcement, specifically the San Antonio Police Department when it comes to providing updates on the investigation.

The latest public search effort by law enforcement happened in February when authorities scoured a wooded area located between two apartment complexes. However, the two-day search led nowhere.

Lina was last seen playing outside at an apartment complex in the 9400 block of Fredericksburg Road on Dec. 20, 2021.

Non-profit organizations like Project Absentis and Eagles Flight Advocacy and Outreach have dedicated resources toward researching tips into Lina’s disappearance. Various sightings of Lina have come out unfounded.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has expressed interest in assisting police in a deeper way but at this point the desire has not been permitted. The Center released an age-progressed image of what Lina might look like today.

“Riaz, I will tell you this. I will continue to walk this road with you for as long as it takes. I’m going to ask that you all continue to keep her in her prayers until she is safely back in her father’s arms,” said Pamela Allen, head of Eagles Flight Advocacy and Outreach.

Riaz wrapped up his remarks with the help of a translator, emphasizing his love for Lina and offering a substantial amount of money to add to the current reward.

“Even though there isn’t anything successful coming from the police department, but I want to add one thing, the reward is right now $250,000. I would put another $30,000 from my pocket to make it to $280,000 if we can,” Riaz said.

A statement from SAPD:

“After nearly three years investigating the disappearance of Lina Khil, the San Antonio Police Department remains committed to following-up on and investigating every lead that we receive. SAPD continues to use all tools available, including working with our partners at the FBI to investigate all leads. SAPD would like to take this opportunity to ask anyone with information on Lina’s disappearance and/or whereabouts to please call police.”
