Officials say the woman was bitten on her arm and lower back after the dog jumped the fence and knocked her down as she was delivering mail.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department says a female mail driver has been hospitalized after being bit by a dog on the northwest side.
Around noon, authorities responded to the 1500 block of West Craig Place after receiving reports of a dog attack.
Preliminary information from SAPD suggests the dog jumped a fence and knocked the woman down before biting her right arm and lower back.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and the dog will be quarentined for 10 days since the own could not verify vaccines, according to police.
This is an ongoing investigation.
