Fight in Walmart parking lot turns deadly, police say

The victim got into a fight with an elderly man when he was fatally shot, according to police.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was fatally shot after getting into a fight with someone at a Walmart parking lot on the south side of town early Monday morning, police say.

It happened just before 7 a.m. in the 1200 block of South East Military Drive near Roosevelt Avenue.

Officers responded to the parking lot where they found the victim, a man in his 30s, shot in his upper body, as well as his bicep and forearm.

Police say the suspect is a man is his late 70s or early 80s.

SAPD says the victim was in a truck in the parking lot with a woman when he got into some sort of altercation with the elderly suspect.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Both the woman who was with the victim and the suspect have been detained by police for questioning.

No other injuries were reported.
