Finesilver Curve reopens to traffic hours after overturned 18-wheeler carrying bees shuts down connector ramp in downtown San Antonio

The crash blocked I‑35 to I‑10 west ramp Friday morning as crews worked to clear the roadway. It reopened around 8 p.m.

SAN ANTONIO — An overturned 18-wheeler shut down a key connector ramp in central San Antonio for hours Friday, causing traffic to be diverted at one of downtown’s busiest highway interchanges.

A San Antonio Fire Department spokesman said the 18-wheeler was carrying a load of bees.

The crash occurred at Finesilver Curve, the connector ramp from Interstate 35 south to Interstate 10 west. Authorities closed the ramp as firefighters worked at the scene, blocking portions of I‑35 and I‑10.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was transported to a local hospital.

The lanes were reopened by 8 p.m. Friday, SAPD said online, after traffic had to be diverted back to Interstate 35 South or to Exit 157A at San Pedro Avenue.
