Finn has been at shelter for almost his entire short life | Forgotten Friends

Finn is celebrating his first birthday on Saturday, and would be one happy dog if he got a loving family for his birthday.

SAN ANTONIO — Our “Forgotten Friends” series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.

Finn is a pug mix saved by the Footbridge Foundation back in April of 2023. He is celebrating his first birthday on Saturday, and would be one happy dog if he got a loving family for his birthday.

He was brought to the shelter when he was just two months old because his owner need to have a lung transplant and just couldn’t take care of him anymore. He has been with them for more than 180 days now.

“Finn is a total goofball, super funny and high energy, he loves romping around with our one and a half year old dog, and he is super happy to see his humans every time they come home,” said Footbridge Foundation. “He is incredibly smart, super eager to learn and loves to hang out with the family as much as he possibly can. His antics and silliness will have you cracking up constantly.”

Finn gets along with other dogs and even likes cats. But he is very high-energy, so needs to be monitored when he is playing with them to make sure he doesn’t get too rough. He should also be fed separately as well.

“His original foster had him in a home with cats and he is currently with our two dogs,” said Footbridge Foundation. “He is very playful and fun-loving once he’s used to any fur siblings.”

Finn needs a family that can be patient as he transitions into your home. Remember he’s been through a lot of changes over the last few months. He would also do best with an active family and would love it if there were some kids for him to play with.

He loves to be petted and is very food-motivated, as well as being very trainable. He knows some basic commands and is potty-trained! “He just wants to please and will follow you to the moon if you’re his person.”

“Because he is high energy, he needs a family that will wear him out and not be intimidated if he gets excited,” said Footbridge Foundation.

Finn is very healthy, current on all of vaccinations and has been neutered.

He does have some dietary restrictions due to some tummy troubles from all his transitions, but they are very manageable.

Finn is part of Footbridge Foundation’s Lonely Hearts Club, which means his adoption fee is sponsored by their generous donors! That means no fee to adopt, but as always, a donation would be welcomed.

For whoever adopts Finn, Lucy’s Doggy Daycare & Spa will be lending a paw by offering them a free “Glow Up” Day at the Spa, which includes a massage therapy bath and Pawdicure. One of Lucy’s most cherished core values is to continue Lucy’s legacy of giving back to pups in need, as Lucy herself was a rescue!
