A fire that started outside a duplex — and may have been caused by a dryer — sent two residents to the hospital with minor injuries.
SAN ANTONIO — A late-night fire at a duplex just north of downtown sent two people to the hospital, officials say.
The San Antonio Fire Department responded around 9:02 p.m. Saturday to the 800 block of West Rosewood Boulevard for a structure fire.
Crews arrived to find flames on the exterior of a two-story duplex and were able to quickly contain the fire before it spread inside. The fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes.
Fire officials say the fire appears to have started in a dryer, though investigators are still working to confirm the exact cause. An electrical issue is also being considered.
Firefighters checked the attic to make sure the flames hadn’t spread further into the home.
Two residents were transported to the hospital as a precaution with minor injuries. One person had a small burn to their hand.
This is a developing story.
