Fire at west-side home causes $60K in damages

SAN ANTONIO — An early morning fire caused an estimated $60,000 in damages to a home on the west side of town Tuesday.

San Antonio firefighters responded to the 800 block of Northwest 20th Street near West Martin Street around 1:30 a.m. for reports of a house fire.

Officials say that a neighbor called 911 when they noticed the home was on fire. It doesn’t appear that anybody was home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly. The damages are estimated to be at least $60,000.

No word on what may have caused the fire to start. No injuries were reported.

This is a developing story.
