Fire crews extinguish rooftop blaze at apartment complex in northwest San Antonio, officials say

Fire officials extinguished a rooftop blaze at The Clara apartments in northwest San Antonio late Tuesday night. No injuries were reported.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio firefighters responded to a late-night fire at a northwest-side apartment complex on Tuesday, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

Crews were dispatched around 11:56 p.m. to the 10700 block of I-10 W at The Clara apartments. When firefighters arrived, they found flames on top of the building’s roof, but authorities said the fire had not burned through the roof.

According to fire officials, the blaze originated from a row of air conditioning units located on the roof.

Several units in the complex were unoccupied at the time, and residents from occupied apartments were able to get out safely, police said. No injuries were reported.

Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames. Authorities are still working to determine how many residents may be displaced as a result of the fire.

The incident remains under investigation.
