Fire crews responded to flames at an abandoned restaurant on Botts Lane Sunday night, and arson investigators are working to determine the cause.
SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters battled a blaze at an abandoned restaurant on the city’s northeast side Sunday night.
The San Antonio Fire Department was called around 9:07 p.m. to the 8600 block of Botts Lane, near Broadway, where crews found smoke and flames coming from the old Fuddruckers building.
Officials said the property was fenced off and unoccupied. Battalion Chief reports indicate the fire may have been started by people experiencing homelessness who had entered the building.
Arson investigators were called out to determine the cause.
No injuries were reported, and both SAFD and SAPD responded to the scene. The building is expected to be torn down in the near future.
The investigation remains ongoing.
