Fire devastates home, claims life of kitten despite rescue efforts

Officials say nobody was at home when their living room caught fire.

SAN ANTONIO — Despite a valiant effort to resuscitate a kitten, it died after a fire broke out in a home on the southeast side of town, officials say.

Crews say the fire broke out in the living room while nobody was home.

This happened on Skyridge Avenue near Southside Lions Park. Crews are still trying to get in touch with family.

Sadly, they did attempt to resuscitate a kitten found inside, but couldn’t save it.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
