Firefighters stopped a late-night fire from spreading after flames tore through an RV and nearby garage on the south side.
SAN ANTONIO — A late-night fire on the south side of San Antonio sent crews racing to keep flames from spreading any farther.
The fire was reported around 9:36 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Villaret Boulevard, where firefighters arrived to find an RV mobile home on fire with flames spreading to a nearby garage.
According to the San Antonio Fire Department, crews had a tough time getting into the garage because of the large amount of property stored inside. By the time firefighters got access, the fire had already spread into the attic.
Crews worked to contain the flames and keep the damage from getting worse.
The good news: the person living in the RV was able to get out safely, and officials say no injuries were reported.
San Antonio Police Department, EMS and fire investigators also responded to the scene as crews worked to figure out what sparked the fire.
