SAN ANTONIO — According to San Antonio Police, a burning dumpster was discovered at a gas station on the city’s west-side containing a body early Thursday morning.
Firefighters were sent to the scene at a Chevron gas station in the 300 block of SW 36th Street near Old Highway 90 around 1 a.m. Thursday.
According to a police sergeant firefighters responded to a dumpster fire and once they were able to put out the fire found the body of a man inside the dumpster. Police say they believed the body was dumped there and then set on fire.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
SAPD detectives as well as arson detectives were called out to investigate.
Authorities say the person who called in the fire did see a red Jeep leaving the parking lot.
