Firefighters say dogs are to blame for a house fire that caused one person some minor burns

It happened early Wednesday morning just west of downtown.

SAN ANTONIO — Fire officials say that dogs are to blame for starting a house fire that caused one person to be treated for minor burns early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Allsup Street, which is west of downtown near West Commerce Street.

According to the fire chief, an occupant of the home was treated on the scene out by EMS for minor burns after a fire in a house located out back. The person who lives in the home said the fire was accidentally started by the dogs. 

Officials say that everybody made it out safely.

The damages are estimated to be between $5,000 and $10,000.

No other injuries were reported.
