Firefighters worked quickly to battle blaze on southside

The residents of the home were able to make it out and no injuries were reported.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio firefighters worked quickly to battle a blaze on the south side of town in the early morning hours of Saturday.

SAFD responded to reports of a fire in the 200 block of Helena Avenue near South Flores Street around 2:45 a.m.

When crews arrived, they found flames coming from the home.

Firefighters quickly set up attack lines and got the fire knocked down within minutes. All of the residents in the home were able to make it out and no injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
