First look inside highly anticipated San Antonio Asian market ahead of opening

There’s certainly an eager audience ready to step through the double doors of Teso Life in San Antonio and enter into the world of Asian skincare, snacks, blind box collectibles and stationery. Just in visiting the site for a quick photo, MySA was stopped and asked when those doors would finally be unlocked. After much anticipation, we can finally answer that question.

Teso Life is one of many Asian markets, selling cutesy wares and highly coveted snacks and cosmetics, with a cult-like following. It’s opened several stores in bigger Texas cities, but its first location in either South or Central Texas will officially open its doors on October 3.

The wait is nearly over, y’all. And not only are folks inquiring outside the brightly colored Teso Life displays promising of an impending opening day, but people online have been restless. In fact, one woman walked into the place (which invited people in to apply for a job) and snapped a first look at the shop before being ordered to leave. No worries, though. MySA still got an official first look inside – without any risk of a trespass warning, of course.

“This is awesome! I normally have to drive to Carrollton to go to Teso,” Tera Beauman commented on a Facebook post from MySA showing the progress of the San Antonio store’s progress. She wasn’t alone in that excitement, but many were eager (if not a little hostile) to hear about an opening date.

We hear y’all. A Teso Life marketing team member told MySA the store opens on Friday, October 3, and will continue to be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Plus, early shoppers who are there on opening day could snag a gift. There are various prizes to be had based on how much you spend on that first-day visit, starting at spending any money and then climbing up in $50 increments up to $200.

Of course, you only get one gift, regardless of how much you spend, but who knows how good those get by the time you reach the max amount.

The store will be located along 12720 I-10 West, at the intersection of I-10 and Dezavala, in a shopping center that’s becoming a bit of an Asian mecca for markets, food and more. 85°C Bakery, Hula Poke, Pho Hung Cuong and HuHot Mongolian Grill have already been operating in the shopping center for some time.

While we don’t exactly have an inventory list of everything that’ll be stocked on shelves at the San Antonio location, a sneak peek inside the store showed rows and rows of colorful boxes lining walkways. Blind boxes will clearly be a big selling point at this store.

Blind boxes, themed toys and figurines that remain a mystery until the wrapping is unsealed, are clearly going to be a big deal here. Among the rows of boxes, a serious stack of the Fruit Party blind box series from JOYTOYS are visible.
