San Antonio was without Jeremy Sochan due to injury. Head coach Gregg Popovich was also out as he continues to recover from a stroke. Assistant coach Mitch Johnson was at the helm as head coach.

“At the end of the day, there’s no excuses. We got to do better on that,” Champagnie said. “I said last time, we hang our hats on that (defense), and of course, so if that’s what we’re going to do, we have to come do it every night, even if it’s a loss. We want to play 48 minutes of good defensive basketball.”
