A Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 p.m. Monday for various counties in South-Central Texas, including Kerr, Bexar, Uvalde, Comal and Guadalupe, according to the National Weather Service.

The service says “excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.” In Kerr County, families are already working to pick up the pieces and continue looking for missing loved ones after the catastrophic July Fourth floods.

Friday’s deadly and catastrophic flooding situation unfolded in the dark, early morning hours as people were asleep in homes, RVs and campsites along the Guadalupe River. The river rose more 26 feet between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. Nearly 70 people have were killed in these floods.

The flooding at Guadalupe River at Hunt reached the 2nd highest height on record, higher than the 1987 flood. “This is a very dangerous and life-threatening flood event along the river,” according to NWS.
