A Floresville man will spend 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to receiving child pornography.
FLORESVILLE, Texas — A Floresville man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for receiving child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas.
Federal prosecutors said Nathan Corey Van Zandt, 47, was also ordered to pay $90,000 in restitution to 18 victims.
U.S. Attorney Justin R. Simmons said court documents show Van Zandt used file-sharing software to search for and download images and videos depicting children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Investigators with ICE Homeland Security Investigations seized Van Zandt’s cell phone on March 24, 2024. Authorities say the device contained more than 6,000 images of child sexual abuse material, including images of prepubescent children being sexually assaulted. A seized laptop allegedly contained more than 9,000 images and 400 videos, including material involving infants and toddlers, as well as files depicting bondage and sadistic conduct.
Van Zandt was arrested on March 28, 2024, and charged with receipt and possession of child pornography. He later pleaded guilty to the receipt charge on August 25, 2025.
In addition to prison time, Fred Biery sentenced Van Zandt to 10 years of supervised release following his incarceration. He is also required to register as a sex offender.
ICE Homeland Security Investigations led the investigation into the case.
