United Way and partners will host a food distribution for military families Feb. 20 at JBSA-Lackland, with registration required.
SAN ANTONIO — Military families in San Antonio will have an opportunity to receive fresh food and support this week through a monthly distribution effort aimed at helping service members and veterans.
Thanks to the generosity of the Najim Charitable Foundation, the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County has partnered with the San Antonio Food Bank and Joint Base San Antonio–Lackland to host recurring food distributions for military households.
The food giveaway will take place on Friday, Feb. 20, with enough food available to serve 200 households.
The distribution is part of United Way’s Mission United initiative, which works to help military and veteran families overcome unique challenges by connecting them with community resources and services.
Organizers say the event is open to all service members, veterans, and their families who have base access and register in advance.
Make sure you register ahead of time, and families can find more information through uwsatx.org.
The food distribution will be held on Friday, February 20 at Lackland Air Force Base near the corner of Carswell Avenue and Gott Street beginning at 9 a.m.
