Former NFL player turns himself in at Tampa jail on domestic battery charge

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Former NFL cornerback Cameron Sutton turned himself in at the Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County Sunday night.

Sutton, 29, who previously played for the Detroit Lions, was wanted for domestic battery by strangulation. The charge stems from an incident at a home in Lutz.

After evading law enforcement for weeks, Sutton’s attorney told HCSO on March 25 that Sutton planned to turn himself in.

The Detroit Lions released Sutton following the allegations. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers and 2017 and began playing for the Lions last year.
