Former ‘SNL’ star John Mulaney adds second San Antonio show

Mulaney will also be stopping in Dallas, Houston and Austin when he swings through Texas this fall.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio is apparently pretty excited to catch Emmy-winning “SNL” alumnus John Mulaney when he visits the city later this year… he’s now added a second date to his Alamo City stop.

Tickets for the second gig at downtown’s Majestic Theatre, scheduled for Nov. 12, go on sale this week amid what the venue called “overwhelming demand” for his Nov. 11 show. Tickets for that show are already sold out, according to Mulaney’s website; presale for Nov. 12 begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with general sale starting at 10 a.m. Friday.

The two shows are part of a multi-city Texas swing that will also see him heading to Dallas, Austin and Houston as part of the comedian’s “John Mulaney: Mister Whatever” tour.

The multifaceted performer made a name for himself during a five-year writing stint on “Saturday Night Live” before embarking on his own ventures in stand-up comedy, film and TV. After appearing on SNL’s 50th anniversary show earlier this year, Mulaney produced and hosted the new Netflix variety show “Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney.”

He’s also contributed voice performances to several major films, including the “Spider-Verse” movies and 2022’s “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers.” Mulaney will make his live-action feature film debut in “Madden,” about the famed football broadcaster, as the videogame executive Trip Hawkins; that movie doesn’t have a release date yet.
