Former Texas Longhorns star Xavier Worthy arrested in Williamson County, records show

The current Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver remains in jail on a felony assault charge.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and former Texas Longhorns standout Xavier Worthy has been arrested.

Jail records in Williamson County, just north of Austin, show the 21-year-old Worthy was arrested by the sheriff’s office and booked into county jail.

Details around Worthy’s arrest are unknown at this time, but he’s currently charged with assaulting a family member by impeding their breathing or circulation, a third-degree felony in Texas.

If convicted, a third-degree felony can be punished with a sentence of two to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.
