SAN ANTONIO — Former UTSA All-American cornerback Zah Frazier was selected by the Chicago Bears in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
The former Roadrunner was taken with the 33rd pick in the fifth round, making him the 169th overall pick in the draft.
Frazier now becomes the fifth player from UTSA’s program history to be selected in the NFL Draft, joining:
- David Morgan II – 2016 sixth round
- Marcus Davenport – 2018 first round
- Spencer Burford – 2022 fourth round
- Tariq Woolen – 2022 fifth round
The first-team Athletic Conference All-American finished with a school record and second in the FBS six interceptions during his final campaign with the Roadrunners. He had three multi-interception games to break the previous program record of five.
Fraizer had nine pass breakups in the 100th East-West Shrine Bowl, giving him 15 on the season, tied for sixth among FBS players in 2024. He totaled 24 tackles, 20 unassisted stops, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble and a quarterback hurry last fall, landing him on the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football All-Texas College First-Team.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Frazier dazzled with a 4.36 40-yard dash time, 4.26 in the 20-yard shuttle and 7.00 in the 3-cone drill, which was the second-fastest time among the cornerbacks.
And now, he is a Chicago Bear. Congratulations!
