Faksa, who was drafted by the Stars in 2012, makes his return to Dallas after spending one season with the St. Louis Blues.
DALLAS — Forward Radek Faksa is returning to Dallas after signing a three-year, $6 million contract with the Stars, the team announced Tuesday — bringing another familiar face back into the fold.
Faksa, 31, was the Stars’ No. 13 overall selection in the 2012 NHL Draft. The forward played nine seasons with the Stars before signing with the St. Louis Blues for the 2024-2025 season.
During his time in Dallas, Faksa ranked second on the team in both shorthanded ice time (1,157 minutes) and hits (852), trailing only Esa Lindell and Jamie Benn, respectively. He ranks 18th in franchise history in games played and is one of just 13 players to appear in more than 600 games since the team relocated to Dallas, according to the Stars.
“We are thrilled to welcome Radek back to Dallas,” Stars General Manager Jim Nill said. “We know that he can be not only an important depth piece for our team on the ice, but a mentor to our young players off it. Between his work ethic and his efforts in the community, he has always been the consummate professional, and we know that he will be able to seamlessly step back into our dressing room.”
Radek Faksa, a native of Vitkov, Czechia, is the latest familiar face to return to the Stars organization this offseason. His signing comes the same day the team announced the hiring of Glen Gulutzan as head coach. Gulutzan previously led the Stars for two seasons from 2011 to 2013.
Faksa returns to Dallas with the fifth-most career NHL games played among active Czech players, according to the team.
