Four Dogs for Christmas | Forgotten Friends

We have featured all four of these dogs over the last year, but for whatever reason, their person has not yet found them… yet.

SAN ANTONIO — Our “Forgotten Friends” series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.

This week on Forgotten Friends we are sharing a few dogs who are still waiting for their forever homes. We have featured all four of them over the last year, but for whatever reason, their person has not yet found them… yet. We hope by shining the spotlight on them once more, they all will have homes for Christmas.

SWEETIE 🎅🎄

Sweetie ended up at the Bulverde Area Humane Society (BAHS) back in 2023 after her owner died. She needs to be the only dog in your home and would love to have her own fenced-in backyard. She’s super smart and loves belly rubs and just hanging out. You can even take her home for the week first, to see if she’d be a good fit for your family.

The fee to adopt Sweetie would be only $100, which covers the cost of her healthcare, all vaccinations, flea preventative and more. For more information on adopting Sweetie, please visit their website.

FENRIR 🎅🎄

Fenrir has been waiting at the Humane Society in New Braunfels (HSNBA) shelter for over a year after being found as a puppy. He has energy to burn and gets along well with other dogs. He’s basically just a big puppy at heart. He loves attention and going for walks.

Since Fenrir has been at HSNBA for over 30 days and is considered a “long-stay” dog, his adoption fee is waived for the right adopter. Fill out your adoption application now!

KENDALL🎅🎄

Kendall is waiting for you at the Helotes Humane Society. She loves to play fetch, cuddle and wants a family that will take her for long walks and to hang out at the park. She has a tail that never stops wagging and she’s ready to go on an adventure with you. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, she’s the one you want.

You can email info@hhsanimals.org for more information.

MANDY 🎅🎄

Mandy is a senior girl who has been with God’s Dogs Rescue for about four years. She loves everybody, young and old and is very well-behaved. She loves getting pets and giving kisses. She already knows some tricks and still has plenty of energy and love to give.

You can fill out an application with God’s Dogs online CLICK HERE. God’s Dogs requires all pets that are adopted from them remain indoor animals, stay current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.

The adoption fee is $200 within the state of Texas. That fee would include transportation to your area. Mandy is also available to be adopted out of state for $450, which would include the fees to transport her to you wherever you live (within the continental United States).

All of these dogs would love to have a home in time for the holidays!

For whoever adopts Sweetie, Fenrir, Kendall or Mandy, Lucy’s Doggy Daycare & Spa will be lending a paw by offering them a free “Glow Up” Day at the Spa, which includes a massage therapy bath and Pawdicure. One of Lucy’s most cherished core values is to continue Lucy’s legacy of giving back to pups in need, as Lucy herself was a rescue!

Remember when you adopt a shelter pet, you save two lives… the one you bring home with you and the one that now will be saved because the shelter has more room.

If you know of a Forgotten Friend that has been overlooked and is still looking for a “furr-ever” home, contact Andrea at acarden@kens5.com.
