Brindle, Hunter, Dale and Gypsy have all been featured by us over the last two years, but sadly they’re still waiting to be chosen.
KERRVILLE, Texas — Our “Forgotten Friends” series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.
We never give up on finding homes for our Forgotten Friends. Brindle, Hunter, Dale and Gypsy have all been featured over the last two years. Sadly, they are all four still waiting to be chosen by someone to bring home and love.
Brindle
We first told you about Brindle back in August of 2023. He’s a four-year-old Catahoula mix who was surrendered to the shelter simply because his owner didn’t want him anymore.
He’d do best in an active home with no small kids. The shelter tells us he loves playing with his ball, a frisbee or really anything for hours.
He needs someone who will spend time with him and handle him responsibly and with love.
Hunter
We met Hunter in October of 2023. He was left tied to a mailbox, alone and forgotten, when his family moved away.
He’s a two-and-a-half-year-old tri-color Shepherd mix that was saved from the euthanasia list because shelter staff knew he had the potential to be a great pet for someone.
Hunter is healthy, current on all of shots and neutered. He loves chasing after a ball and getting loving pets from humans.
He’d love to have an active family, with someone to throw the ball for him to chase.
Dale
Dale was our Forgotten Friend the third week of May of this year. She’s a three-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback and Retriever mix who has been waiting for two and a half years for someone to choose her to bring home.
She has a gorgeous red coat, loves kids and her dream home would be one that is active with folks both young and old who are ready, willing and able to take her hiking, go for swims and check out all that the outdoors has to offer.
She absolutely loves people, and gets really excited when she first meets someone, but when the command “settle” is given, she goes into a sit right away.
Gypsy
We told you about Gypsy in October. She’s a three-year-old Heeler mix that was found wandering as a stray back in August.
She super-friendly and gets along great with other dogs, loves treats and playing ball. She also loves to go for car rides and get loving pets from her human.
Gypsy is spayed, current on all of vaccinations and ready to go to her new home!
“Gypsy is a doll,” said Karen. “She has funny little eyes that sometimes look like the Cat that Ate the Canary. She will be your buddy and your other dog or dog’s buddy.”
