Framework of roof blows off Kerrville saloon and rodeo arena after overnight storms

A storm blew off the red iron framework of Kerrville Gravity Check Saloon and Arena’s new roof last night.

SAN ANTONIO — The framework of a new roof blew off of a Kerrville-area rodeo and arena after storms late Thursday night.

The owner of Kerrville Gravity Check Saloon and Arena provided photos to KENS 5 that show the extent of the damage. The photos show the partial roof of the arena collapsed on the ground.

The owner said the arena was in the process of being covered before the storms collapsed the red iron framework. The business was ready to install the rest of the roof until this happened.

No one was injured in the incident.

Huge storms hit San Antonio and the Hill County late Thursday and early Friday morning, bringing heavy rain and lighting to the area. No other major damage has been reported, but minor street flooding was observed during the storms.
