Big’s, a Fredericksburg convenience store, receives a $250,000 bonus for selling a winning $1.8 billion Powerball ticket.
SAN ANTONIO — The Fredericksburg store that sold the winning Powerball ticket last month has received a bonus check from the lottery.
The second-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history — $1.8 billion — was won on the night of Sept. 6. There were two lucky winners: one in Missouri and one in the Texas Hill Country town of Fredericksburg.
The Texas winning ticket was sold at a convenience store Big’s — a new addition to the area that’s now basking in national spotlight. The store was presented with a check for $250,000 for being the store to sell the winning ticket.
The winning numbers from the Sept. 6 drawing were: 11, 23, 44, 61, 62 and the Powerball 17. The prize will be split evenly between the Texas and Missouri ticket holders.
The winners have six months to claim the winning prize. The Texas Lottery said Wednesday the Texas winner has not claimed the prize yet, but the organization said it had been contacted by a “potential winner.”
