Free app aims to connect job seekers with those needing work done

By not charging a commission, the app could help the San Antonio economy.

SAN ANTONIO — Looking for a job in this economy is a tough one, with many needing side jobs. But a new and free smartphone app aims to make it easier, while helping the San Antonio economy too.

The app is called JobSnap, and is very new.

The makers of the app say it will help both those looking for help to find a service provider, and the person looking for work.

“It’s basically it’s a simple mobile application that allows two sides of the market to connect people that are looking for jobs and tasks to get done. If you’re looking for a job and tasks to get done, it’s 100% free. There are other platforms that actually charge you a commission to actually post a job or a task,” said James Albis, the founder and CEO of JobSnap.

Albis says the app can be especially helpful in this economy which is full of uncertainty.

“Whether you’re looking to fill in the gaps, you’re looking to make extra money, or if you have a full time job, you could use the JobSnap app to make extra money,” Albis said.

If someone has a tree that’s down, they’ll post a job snap and the member will be able to see the information come up real time. And the app could help the San Antonio economy get a leg up by not sending the money for commissions away to other platforms charging fees per post.

“So instead of shepherding that money off to Silicon Valley or other big marketplace, that that money will be recycled and repurposed in the local economy, helping those people that are looking to fill in the gaps,” Albis said.

You can find the free smartphone app in Google Play or the App Store
