Free pet vaccines, microchips offered at District 1 Pet Block Party in San Antonio

San Antonio pet owners can get free vaccinations and microchips for their pets at a District 1 Pet Block Party this weekend.

SAN ANTONIO — Pet owners in San Antonio will have a chance to get free services for their furry companions during a community pet event this weekend.

Sukh Kaur and the District 1 office are hosting a Pet Block Party on Saturday, March 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the District 1 Field Office, located at District 1 Field Office.

The event will offer free pet vaccinations and microchipping for the first 100 animals on a first-come, first-served basis. Pet owners will need to register on-site to receive the services.

Organizers say the event is designed to help residents access basic pet care while connecting with neighbors in the community.

“This event is a great opportunity for residents to take care of their pets and connect with neighbors,” Kaur said. “We want to make basic pet care more accessible and celebrate the important role pets play in our families and communities.”

Services will be provided by San Antonio Animal Care Services, with support from the Footbridge Foundation and Spay Neuter Network.

In addition to the free services, attendees can pick up pet-themed giveaways and learn about resources to help keep their pets healthy and safe.

City officials encourage residents to bring dogs or cats along with their pet records if available. Pets should be leashed or secured in carriers during the event.
