Bexar County is once again offering free weddings on Valentine’s Day—making it easy for couples to tie the knot in a romantic, no-cost ceremony.
BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — Roses are red, violets are blue, if you want to say “I do” on Valentine’s Day, today’s the deadline for you!
For couples like Elvia Moreno, this year’s courthouse weddings hold extra meaning.
“We’re so excited to get married on Valentine’s Day because not everyone can get married on Valentine’s day.”
With their marriage license in hand, the Morenos are ready to walk down the aisle this Friday—and if you got yours by today, you can too!
Bexar County is once again offering free weddings on Valentine’s Day—making it easy for couples to tie the knot in a romantic, no-cost ceremony.
The celebrations begin at midnight on the courthouse steps, hosted by Bexar County Clerk Lucy Adame-Clark.
“We’re excited to be performing wedding ceremonies on February 14th. It starts on the 13th—we’ll be looking forward to seeing you at 11 p.m. And then at 12:01 on the 14th will be our first ceremony.”
And if you’re one of the first 50 couples to get married at midnight, you’ll receive a free rose!
If midnight feels too soon, don’t worry—there are three more ceremonies at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m.
Need a License? There’s Still Hope! Texas requires a 72-hour waiting period for marriage licenses, meaning today is the last day to get one for a Valentine’s wedding.
But if you missed the deadline, you might not be out of luck—waivers are available at the County Clerk’s office for those who qualify.
“We will see you on Valentine’s Day. We’re excited to perform your ceremony here in Bexar County at our beautiful courthouse,” says Bexar County Clerk Lucy Adame-Clark.
