Jose Antonio Morales from The Majestic Empire Foundation’s Joci Awards was selected to be a Student Reporter at the 2025 Jimmy Awards.
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio student is now heading to New York after officially being named a Jimmy Awards Student Reporter.
Thanks to his talents and the rest of the Alamo City, Jose Antonio Morales from The Majestic Empire Foundation’s Joci Awards was selected to cover The Jimmy Awards on social media.
In March, Jose was named a Top 10 National Finalist for the Jimmy Awards Student Reporter Seach. Viewers were encouraged to like, comment and share videos on social media of Jose to help him move on.
Now, thanks to you, he has!
The National High School Musical Theatre Awards, known as the Jimmy Awards, are a national celebration of outstanding student achievement in vocal, dance and acting performances and elevates the importance of theatre arts education in schools.
And Jose is one of two students who’ll be able to cover it.
According to the Jimmy Awards website, Jose will be providing fans with an inside look at the final preparations for the evening performances of the June 23 award show. He will also be conducting exclusive interviews with the winner of the 2025 Best Actor and Best Actress winner after the ceremony.
“The performance arts have long been my calling in the entertainment sphere, and I am thrilled for this opportunity to marry my media expertise with my most inspired pursuit, live theatre,” Jose said when he was named a Top 10 finalist.
Jose will be joined by San Jose’s Jayden Hope Fernando from the Rita Moreno Awards as the two reporters.
“None of this would be possible without all of your help!” The Majestic Empire Foundation said in an Instagram post. He will be the foundation’s first ever Student Reporter.
The 16th annual Jimmy Awards will take place on Monday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre.
