
The Station Cafe took to social media to thank the community for its support and help during a difficult time.
SAN ANTONIO — A GoFundMe launched by owners of a San Antonio business is working to raise money for a neighboring restaurant after a loved one of the owners was found dead.
San Antonio police said Vance Wilkinson Rowe was found dead Thursday, having been reported missing the previous Monday. Authorities at the time said he was last seen in the 1000 block of South Flores Street.
The fundraiser was launched by the owners of of R+R Collective, a Southtown tea shop and consignment store, to help support and raise money for the owners and staff of The Station Cafe, located just a few steps away.
“The Station Cafe has been a mainstay in the Southtown/King William neighborhood for almost 20 years,” the creators of the fundraiser wrote. “They have fed us so well. Jon and Stacie have poured their hearts + souls into our community and continue to do so. Calling them pillars of the community would be an understatement.”
In an Instagram post, staff at The Station Cafe thanked the community “for all of your help, support and prayers during this difficult time.”
“We are grateful to be a part of such a special community,” the post reads. “Rest in Peace, Vance.”
SAPD did not share more information about the circumstances of Rowe’s death.
