Georgetown police search for missing 18-year-old last seen at Sawyer Park campsite

Police say 18-year-old Kenley Bommarito was last seen Friday, Nov. 28, at a campsite in Sawyer Park.

GEORGETOWN, Texas — Georgetown police are searching for a missing 18-year-old who was last seen on Friday, Nov. 28.

According to the Georgetown Police Department, 18-year-old Kenley Bommarito has not been seen since 10 p.m. at a campsite in Sawyer Park, not far from Lake Georgetown.

Police say they believe Bommarito is still in the area near the lake, but they “are not ruling out anything.” Law enforcement officials are searching for Bommarito on both the land and water near the park.

Search operations on Monday included canines, boats using sonar and dive teams, a helicopter using thermal devices and trained volunteers from Texas Search and Rescue. On Tuesday, search operations will resume using sonar, drone, dive operations and area searches.

As of Monday evening, police said foul play has not been ruled out.

“We appreciate all the assistance that has been offered by the public but because this is an active search and investigation, and any type of foul play has not been ruled out, we must be cautious in allowing assistance outside of trained professionals,” the Georgetown Police Department said. “We are grateful to the multiple different entities, organizations, and agencies that are assisting us and Kenley’s family in helping to locate him.”

Anyone with information on Bommarito’s whereabouts is asked to call the Georgetown Police Department at 512-930-3510.
