Get ready for nostalgia! Godfather’s Pizza returning to San Antonio

Godfather’s Pizza plans to open its first San Antonio location this month, led by local veteran Levi Rodgers.

SAN ANTONIO — Godfather’s Pizza is planning a return to San Antonio with opening a new location this month.

The iconic pizza brand is nostalgic for many here in South Texas and the company hopes the new location is the first of many.

The first location was inspired by local veteran Levi Rodgers, founder and CEO of Levi Rodgers Real Estate Group. Rodgers worked his first job at Godfather’s Pizza in Sacramento in the 1990s. He almost accepted a position as assistant manager, but ultimately left Godfathers to join the military, leading to a decorated career in the Special Forces.

He and his fiance stopped at a Godfather’s Pizza on a recent road trip to Oregon, prompting them to plan to bring the iconic restaurant back to the Alamo City.

“We were there to see the waterfalls and ended up finding a piece of my past I thought was gone for good. I knew right then we had to bring it home to San Antonio,” Rodger’s said.

The new location will be led by Juan Cuellar, Rodgers’ business partner.

“Our mission is simple,” said Cuellar. “Serve the best pizza in town, hire great local talent, and create a place where families feel at home.”

The first location will be in the area of Highway 151 and Loop 410 on the west side of town. The company hopes to open other locations after this first one.

“Godfather’s Pizza is excited to return to the San Antonio market as part of our continued expansion in Texas,” said Kathy Johnson, Senior Vice President Franchise & Retail at Godfather’s Pizza, Inc. “Known for our abundantly-topped pizzas and welcoming atmosphere, we’re thrilled to bring our unique flavors back to the community.”
