Converse Police invite locals to spread holiday cheer by selecting a Silver Angel Tree tag, purchasing gifts for seniors, and volunteering to wrap them by Dec. 15.
CONVERSE, Texas — The season of giving is shining extra bright in Converse this year as the Converse Police Department unwraps its annual Converse Silver Angel Tree, a merry tradition that sends Christmas joy jingling straight to local seniors.
Inside the Converse Police Department lobby, a twinkling tree stands decorated not with ornaments, but with Silver Angel tags, each one representing a senior in the community who could use a little extra love this holiday season. Residents are invited to stop by, pluck a tag (or two!) from the branches, and help make a Christmas wish come true.
Each tag includes a list of items specially requested by a local senior. All you have to do is choose a tag, purchase the items, and return the unwrapped gifts to the department by December 15 at 5:00 p.m. It’s a simple act that can make an unforgettable difference.
And for those who love the magic of wrapping paper, curling ribbon, and holiday bows, the department also needs volunteers to help wrap gifts ahead of delivery. If you’re interested, contact Officer A. Chairez at (210) 965-2383 or email achairez@conversepdtx.gov.
With the help of generous neighbors, the Converse Silver Angel Tree promises to make the holidays shine a little brighter for seniors throughout the community—one silver tag at a time.
