‘Goosebumps’ author R.L. Stine to headline Cursed City Con in San Antonio

The event will be held at The Marriott San Antonio Airport on September 27 and 28.

SAN ANTONIO — “Goosebumps” fans can have a frighteningly good time in the Alamo City with a beloved horror convention returning this fall.

Popular author and creator of the “Goosebumps” franchise R.L. Stine will be headlining the Cursed City Con in San Antonio on Saturday, September 27 through the 28.

Cursed City Con has become a must-see event for horror enthusiasts and fans who enjoy classic or contemporary scares, vendors and meet-and-greets with the people who showed them what really went bump in the night. The event will be open to the public beginning Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The horror convention will be held at The Marriott San Antonio Airport, located at 77 NE Interstate 410 Loop. Tickets start at $15 for one day and $30 for the whole weekend. Kids under 12 get in for free. Tickets can be purchased here.

“We’re back and our love of the horror genre naturally includes the Goosebumps franchise. For many of us, R.L. Stine introduced us to some of our first scares at our local library and book fairs. Those frightful stories and images followed us well into adulthood, and now we’re happy to celebrate with fans at our event. Attendees and reader beware, you’re in for a scary good time,” Showrunner Jesus Hernandez said.

Cursed City Con will have several guests including original “Goosebumps” cover artist Tim Jacobus, horror authors Johnny Compton and Celso Hurtado. Filmmaker J.M. Logan, known for his work on “Annabelle,” and “The Relic” will also be in attendance along with many other authors, illustrators and other celebrities.

Organizers say they are committed to providing guests with “thrill, chills and a wickedly good time.”
