
Gov. Greg Abbott along with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard, seek to lower illegal border crossings on a massive scale.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott‘s Office released data addressing Texas’ efforts to reduce immigrants illegally crossing the United States-Mexico border.
Operation Lone Star, launched in 2021 by Gov. Abbot to address people crossing the border undocumented, has “led to 527,6000 illegal immigrant apprehensions and more than 49,000 criminal arrests, with more than 42,000 felony charges,” according to the governor’s news release.
The governor’s office reported undocumented border crossings have decreased by 87% since the beginning of Operation Lone Star. The number of migrants to cities across the country has also been impacted.
The city with the most migrants since 2022 is New York City, NY with over 45,900, per the governor’s office.

• Over 12,500 migrants to Washington, D.C. since April 2022
• Over 36,900 migrants to Chicago since August 2022
• Over 3,400 migrants to Philadelphia since November 2022
• Over 19,200 migrants to Denver since May 2023
• Over 1,500 migrants to Los Angeles since June 2023
In addition, more than “573 million lethal doses of fetanyl” have been reportedly seized through the efforts of Operation Lone Star.
