It’s going to be easier for kids to stay with adults they know and trust with the state removing what they call 195 “unnecessary” rules.
According to Texas Health and Human Services Commission, there are only 55 rules now to qualify you to foster a family member.
The changes reduce training for kinship foster parents.
Housing inspections are now streamlined to focus on health and safety, and you’ll need less paperwork for over-the-counter medications.
This was made possible with Senate Bill 593 passing in the legislature this summer.
