Gov. Abbott to visit Kerrville for flood recovery announcement Wednesday

The announcement is set to take place at 1 p.m. at the Pavilion at Louise Hays Park in Kerrville.

KERRVILLE, Texas — On Thursday, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country is announcing an update on its plans to help families impacted by July’s deadly floods.

And the foundation will have a special guest to assist in making that announcement today.

They’ve collected more than $60 million in donations from across the world, a lot of help has already been given to first responders and organizations helping out.

Governor Greg Abbott will be in Kerrville Thursday to help with the announcement, which we are told will pour millions of dollars into housing for anyone displaced by the floods.

Also in attendance: leadership from Airbnb and Kerrville Design Build.

Abbott will highlight different leaders and non-profits making a difference in the Hill Country.

Local leaders will also give an update on the work being done to build homes.

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country will also give an update on additional grants going out into the community.

All of this is going to happen at 1 p.m. at the Pavilion at Louise Hays Park located at 202 Thompson Drive in Kerrville.
