Greek FUNstival returns to San Antonio featuring food, music and dancing

The event kicks off Friday from 6 to 11 p.m. at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church.

SAN ANTONIO — After a decade-long hiatus, Greek FUNstival is back for a three-day celebration of food, music, dancing and culture.

The event kicks off Friday from 6 to 11 p.m. at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church located at 2504 North St. Mary’s Street and continues through Sunday.

The annual festival features an Agora marketplace, a refurbished Taverna serving Greek wines and libations and authentic Greek cuisine like gyros, souvlaki and pastries made from Yiayia’s recipes. Plus, live music and dancing add to the family-friendly festivities.

Organizers say the event is a chance for the community to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds and flavors of Greece.

Admission is $5 per person for all three days. Children 12 and under get in free. Attendees should note the festival is cashless, so bring a debit or credit card.
