Flights at both major Dallas-Fort Worth airports — and several smaller ones around the region — are being impacted by an equipment issue, according to the FAA.
DALLAS — Hundreds of flights are delayed at DFW Airport, Dallas Love Field and several other regional airports Friday afternoon as the Federal Aviation Administration reports that telephone equipment issues are affecting their processes.
“The FAA is slowing flights at Dallas Love Field and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport due to a reported local telephone company equipment issue that does not involve FAA equipment,” the FAA said in a statement. “The FAA is working with the telephone company to determine the cause.”
DFW Airport issued a ground stop until 5 p.m. The FAA advisories warn travelers to expect delays until 9 p.m. at Love Field and 10 p.m. at DFW.
As of shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday, more than 600 flights had been delayed at DFW Airport and more than 150 at Dallas Love Field, according to FlightAware data.
