Guacamole the sea turtle at SEA LIFE San Antonio made his Super Bowl pick

Guacamole, the rescued green sea turtle, swam right to a lettuce snack and then picked who he predicts to win the big game.

SAN ANTONIO — The big game buzz is building this Sunday, and one local celebrity has already made a fin-tastic prediction.

Guacamole, a rescued green sea turtle at SEA LIFE San Antonio, paddled into the spotlight after aquarists set up an underwater pick with team signs for the Seahawks and Patriots, each paired with tasty snacks.

With squid and lettuce placed near both team names, Guacamole swam straight for the lettuce and locked in a pick for the Seahawks to win. Aquarium staff joked it may have something to do with the “sea” in the name, but either way, the turtle’s choice will be put to the test when the game kicks off Sunday.

Fans can visit Guacamole and friends inside SEA LIFE San Antonio’s ocean tunnel, where guests come face to fin with sharks, stingrays, and a variety of sea creatures. Visitors can also touch real sea turtles, explore more than 10 exhibits, and watch daily feedings.

SEA LIFE San Antonio is located inside the Shops at Rivercenter, at 849 E. Commerce St., Suite 600.
