Guadalupe County operation leads to arrests, drug and firearm seizures

A multi-agency operation targeting narcotics trafficking and gang activity resulted in five arrests, and multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas — A multi-unit operation by the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office has led to several arrests and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and stolen property, according to officials.

Beginning Dec. 9, the GCSO Special Investigations Bureau Narcotics Unit, Fugitive Apprehension Unit, and Gang Unit carried out a coordinated operation targeting narcotics trafficking, gang activity, and illegal weapons throughout Guadalupe County.

As a result of the operation, investigators made five arrests connected to multiple criminal offenses. Authorities filed a total of 13 felony charges and six misdemeanor charges. Four of the suspects are confirmed members of active criminal street gangs, according to the sheriff’s office.

During the investigation, deputies seized nearly 63 grams of methamphetamine, more than 14 grams of suspected fentanyl — including an estimated 120 M30 pills — as well as oxycodone, alprazolam, marijuana, and three firearms. One of the firearms had been illegally modified with a “Glock switch,” officials said. Deputies also recovered a stolen Yamaha motorcycle and another motor vehicle.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials say additional charges could be filed.

Guadalupe County Sheriff Joshua Ray said the operation sends a clear message to organized criminal groups in the area.

“We are aggressively and strategically pursuing organized criminal street gangs in Guadalupe County that have operated with little accountability,” Ray said. “This operation makes it clear: criminal street gangs will not operate with impunity. Those who traffic drugs, commit violence, or arm themselves illegally will be identified, arrested, and held accountable.”

The sheriff’s office says it remains committed to protecting the community and enforcing the law.
