Northside ISD says an unloaded gun was found at Brennan High School; no threats were reported.
SAN ANTONIO — Northside ISD reported Wednesday that an unloaded gun was found on the campus of Brennan High School.
NISD officials say campus staff received information that a student was possibly in possession of a weapon. NISD police took steps to investigate and the student did, in fact, have an unloaded gun, officials said.
The gun was taken without incident and the student was taken into custody, according to the district. Officials said they are not aware of any threat made to the campus.
A letter was sent out to the high school families alerting them to the situation.
The letter reads in part:
“In addition to disciplinary action defined by our Student Code of Conduct, the individual will be facing criminal charges. I commend our Brennan HS students for bringing the information to our attention. Keeping our school safe is a responsibility we all share and one we take very seriously.”
