H-E-B breaks ground in Mansfield as part of North Texas expansion

The H-E-B expansion into North Texas continues as the company’s newest store in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is officially underway. On Friday, February 3, the H-E-B in Mansfield broke ground at the corner of US 287 and Broad Street, according to a news release.

“We’re extremely excited to strengthen our commitment to the DFW Metroplex with our move into Mansfield,” said H-E-B Executive Vice President North West Food/Drug Juan-Carlos Rück in the release. “Our H-E-B locations across North Texas continue to stir up great excitement with customers, and this H-E-B store will allow us to answer the long-standing call for an H-E-B in this thriving community.”

The 118,000-square-foot store will sit on nearly 28-acres of land and is expected to be completed by spring 2024. The Mansfield location will have a True Texas BBQ restaurant with a drive-thru, a Home by H-E-B department, a H-E-B Pharmacy with drive-thru, a Texas Backyard department, and H-E-B Curbside and Home Delivery, according to the release.

H-E-B has had Central Market locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2001. The new store supports H-E-B’s commitment to serve and grow with Texas, according to the release. The store is expected to employ over 700 new employees. Jobs will be posted on the H-E-B Career website later this year.

“The Mansfield community welcomes H-E-B as a partner and advocate for quality service and world class standards of operation,” said Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans. “Our residents will be the recipients of top-quality grocery and produce, and we are excited about their presence in our city.”

H-E-B stores near the Dallas-Fort Worth area include Burleson, Hudson Oaks, Granbury, and Waxahachie.
