H-E-B had a busy 2022, and the grocery chain will continue that momentum into next year.
H-E-B has announced an opening date for its first multi-level store in Austin, which began construction back in 2019 but faced numerous pandemic-related delays. On February 15, 2023, the Lake Austin H-E-B at 715 S. Exposition Blvd., Austin, TX 78703, will open to shoppers.
Featuring a two-story porch with views of Lake Austin, the 97,000-square-foot store was designed by San Antonio firm Lake Flato Architects, the same team that designed the H-E-B in Central Austin’s Mueller development. Lake Flato’s designs include vine-covered walls, natural lighting, and pitched roofs.
For accessibility, the store will have an underground parking lot and number of wide sidewalks for walking and biking to the store. Inside, the store will have three elevators and escalators both regular and for transporting carts.
The store will feature favorites like True Texas BBQ, a full bar with indoor and outdoor seating, H-E-B’s SouthFlo pizza restaurant, a coffeeshop with breakfast tacos, and curbside and home delivery. The Lake Austin store will also have a drive-thru pharmacy, hand-made sushi from Sushiya, and recipe suggestions for shoppers via H-E-B’s Cooking Connection program.
H-E-B Lake Austin will have energy-efficient features in its refrigeration and outdoors, in its irrigation methods. After the store opens on February 15, H-E-B will install sustainable elements, including rooftop solar panels and electric vehicle chargers.
