
The grocery company moved up one spot on the list with a $4.7 billion jump in revenue from last year to $43.6 billion in 2023. The company employs around 145,000, according to the list. This number hasn’t changed compared to the info on last year’s list. The Texas grocery giant, founded in 1905, employs those across its over 340 stores and numerous facilities, according to data obtained by Forbes.
H-E-B was the only Texas company to land in the top 10 largest companies in the U.S. The grocery store company has been on a major expansion into North Texas over the past two years, opening the most recent one in Allen and three others in Prosper, Melissa, and Rockwall in 2025.
